Blast in Jammu and Kashmir’s anti-terror operation

Two members of the Indian Army were killed in a militant attack during an army operation in India’s Jammu and Kashmir. Four others were injured. The incident took place during an army operation in the Kandi forest area of Jammu’s Rajouri sector, NDTV reported, citing Indian Army officials.

An army truck was ambushed in Tota Gali area of Bhata Dhurian in Jammu region on Tuesday, Indian Army statement said. An intelligence operation is being conducted to nab the attackers. A joint operation was launched on Thursday when it was learned that terrorists were holed up in a cave in dense vegetation and rocky areas of Kandi forest based on intelligence.

The exchange of fire between the joint forces and the terrorists started around 7:30 am on Friday. Suddenly they threw an explosive.

Two soldiers died on the spot. Four others were injured. An officer is among the injured, the statement said, adding that they are being treated at the command hospital in Udhampur.
