An expatriate Bangladeshi named Mohammad Raiful has won 350 million dirhams (over Tk 98 million in Bangladeshi currency) in “The Big Ticket” raffle draw in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Last Tuesday (January 3), Emirates-based daily Khaleej Times reported this news. Authorities failed to contact Mohammad Raiful, who lives in Al Ain, Emirate, several times. Organizers said they will continue to try until they contact the new millionaire. His ticket number is 043678. Besides, they could not tell anything else about him.
However, expatriate journalists are also trying to communicate with him. The Big Ticket Lottery was launched almost three decades ago in 1992 to promote Abu Dhabi Airport and the city. This lottery draw is held every month.
Prize money value for first place varies monthly. The first prize was 350 million dirhams (over 98 million rupees in Bangladeshi currency) in January to mark the English New Year.
Indian national Umshad Ulli Vetil won the second prize in this episode. He received 10 lakh dirhams. Three other Indians Nirshad Nazar, Robin Kadian and Abdul Burhan Puthiavetil won 1 lakh dirhams each.
